I offer copy editing and proofreading services. I do not offer developmental editing.
I accept a wide range of genres, but am most familiar with fantasy, historical fiction, mystery and nonfiction. I do not accept work that is sexually explicit. If your work is in an extremely niche market, such as a cookbook, I may not be able to provide copy editing- only proofreading. I cannot provide fact checking for a historical or nonfiction work- I am only concerned with the quality of your prose.

Copy Editing
I WILL:
1) Correct grammatical errors, inconsistences in tense, and formatting problems
2) Improve sentence flow and clarity
3) Make sure your voice shines through
I WILL NOT:
1) Alter your plot or characterization
2) Change the structure of your work (this is called developmental editing, and it’s a different service)
$0.015 per word, $15 per 1,000 words
Proofreading
I WILL:
1) Correct spelling and punctuation
Yep, that’s it! You don’t want to publish a manuscript that confuses “their” and “they’re’”, do you?
$0.010 per word, $10 per 1,000 words
Need help with story structure, plot, characterization, and all of that wonderful business? While I don’t offer that type of editing, I do have a blog with some helpful tips.
